What is Shiseido Hair Straightening, and what does the process look like?

Shiseido Straightening makes your hair silky and straight but not as flat as hair that has been ironed. A2 Salon only uses Shiseido Professional products from Japan. This solution breaks down the hair bonds that give it shape, allowing it to become pin-straight when the flat-iron is applied. The hair is saturated with the solution, rinsed, dried with a blow-dryer. Then the hair is flat-ironed with a Healing Stone™ iron by GlamPalm® Magic Series™. Like a perm solution, a neutralizer is then applied, which locks the style in place. 

Depending on your hair's length and thickness, you should only be in the salon for a few hours.

Who is the ideal candidate?

If you have frizzy and curly hair, Shiseido Straightening will eliminate frizz and straight hair for easier styling. Ideally, for someone who wants to have a long-lasting result with super straight, shiny and silky hair. 

If your hair has been coloured or received other chemical treatments, you're at a higher risk of damaging your hair with thermal reconditioning. Our experienced stylist in A2 Salon will let you know if your hair is a good candidate for treatment.

How long does a Shiseido Straightening last?

The Shiseido Straightening tends to last about 6-9 months which is about twice as long as keratin straightening treatments. It grows out like a permanent colour, so in strong curly hair types, the roots will come through curly, and the ends will stay straight. Once your regrowth has shown up, come back to visit us. You can choose either to do the regrowth or retreat whole hair again.

How to care for the Shiseido Hair Straightening Treatment?

You might need to wait two days to wash it or pull it up into a ponytail while it sets. Any additional chemicals such as bleach, digital wave perm will add to the damage. Regular use of hair mask is necessary at home, or come to visit us in the salon. Shiseido revitalizing treatment will be the best choice for general maintenance.
